What color coat should I wear with a royal blue dress?

I'm going to a wedding November 13th, I have a nice royal blue dress to wear but I have no idea what color coat to wear. I am thinking of wearing either silver or a tan colored shoe. Also, I am about 5'4" I wear anywhere from a small to a medium but coats sometimes are just so unflattering. Help!
